Converting a three-day instructor-led training programme into scalable, flexible eLearning designed for independent learning.

Project
ILT → eLearning transformation
Focus
Scalability · structure · learner independence
Approach
Microlearning · modular design · LMS structuring
The Challenge
The original training was delivered over three days by a single trainer, with much of the key information conveyed verbally rather than captured in the slides.
This meant the source material was incomplete, requiring close collaboration with the client to reconstruct the full learning experience.
The volume of content was also significant, and the absence of a trainer meant the eLearning needed to fully support learners independently.
The Approach
1. Content Reconstruction
Worked closely with the client to identify and capture missing knowledge from the original delivery.
2. Modular Design
Broke down large volumes of content into manageable microlearning segments.
3. Flexible Structure
Organised modules within the LMS to allow flexible navigation and scalable future expansion.
The Solution
I transformed the course into a modular eLearning experience, ensuring that all essential information was accessible without reliance on a trainer, while balancing client requirements with learner needs.
- • Chunked content into microlearning units for clarity and retention
- • Structured modules to support independent navigation
- • Ensured all critical information was explicitly included
- • Designed with future scalability in mind
- • Integrated audio narration with optional playback for accessibility and control
While audio was a key requirement, care was taken to ensure it enhanced rather than restricted the experience by giving learners control over playback and pacing.
The Outcome
The result was a flexible, scalable learning solution that successfully translated a highly dependent instructor-led experience into an independent eLearning format, while maintaining clarity and usability for learners.
