The Challenge
The course needed to introduce complex intellectual property concepts within the context of the Blue Economy to a non-legal audience. The source material was highly technical and not designed for learning.
Additional challenges included introducing interactive eLearning in an organisation where this approach was new, aligning multiple stakeholder perspectives, and delivering the course within a strict timeline.
The Solution
I led the transformation of dense legal content into an accessible, engaging learning experience by simplifying language and introducing interaction where it would support understanding.
- • Rewrote complex legal content into clear, learner-friendly language
- • Designed a structured, modular learning journey across nine modules
- • Introduced interactive elements to reinforce key concepts
- • Used visual design to support comprehension and reduce cognitive load
- • Balanced stakeholder input while maintaining a consistent learning experience
The Outcome
The result was a clear, engaging introduction to intellectual property in the Blue Economy, making complex subject matter accessible to a broader audience. The course also demonstrated the value of interactive eLearning within the organisation, setting a precedent for future projects.
